Valo Motion Launches ValoBoard Mixed-Reality Attraction

Valo Motion has launched ValoBoard, a multiplayer mixed-reality attraction that brings the physical movements of board sports into an interactive game environment. The product is the company’s second new offering of 2026 and the fifth addition to its product line.

ValoBoard will make its debut at IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 at ExCeL London. It is the first Valo Motion product designed around a physical controller. It uses the company’s ValoVision full-body tracking system to connect riders’ movements with the games shown on screens.

Guests stand on a tilt board and control the action by shifting their weight, leaning and jumping. Weight shifts steer, leaning aims, and jumps let riders avoid obstacles. ValoVision records their movements instantly as they play.

The attraction aims to make board sports more accessible. Board sports can require access to environments such as mountains or oceans, as well as time spent learning the skills involved. ValoBoard instead uses balance and core strength in a multiplayer game experience.

For operators, the attraction has a footprint of 15 square metres, or 161 square feet, beneath a standard 2.7-metre, or 8-foot-11, ceiling. It requires no structural modifications or special flooring.

Sessions last between two and three minutes. With gated admission in Rush Hour mode, the system can accommodate 70 to 74 riders per hour.

ValoBoard operates without staff and does not require wearables, headsets or guest onboarding. The system also requires no maintenance. Operators can run the attraction through gated admission or a pay-to-play model.

Remote management is available through Operations Hub, Valo Motion’s cloud platform for scheduling, branding and performance monitoring. Each ride session ends with a QR code that guests can scan to receive a branded video of their ride. The feature is intended to encourage organic social sharing and help operators acquire new customers.

ValoBoard is suitable for guests aged six and above. It is particularly aimed at teenagers and young adults, who may compare attractions with the games they already play at home. The three launch games are easy to learn but challenging to master.

Sunset Skaters is a fast-paced skating race across three lanes. Trickpunk Snowboarding is a mountain sandbox in which each rider can choose their own path down. Spinblades is a two-player head-to-head battle on a floating platform.

The three games are intended to attract cautious first-time players, competitive groups and returning guests seeking higher scores. This gives the attraction different forms of play while keeping the three titles within the same mixed-reality board-sports format.

Valo Motion is showcasing ValoBoard alongside Groundfall, which was launched earlier in 2026, at booth S2502 at ExCeL London. IAAPA Expo Europe 2026 runs from 22 to 24 September.

Dr Raine Kajastila, chief executive of Valo Motion, is scheduled to introduce the new products during a press conference at the booth on Tuesday, 22 September, at 3.20 pm. He will also reflect on the company’s first decade as Valo Motion marks its 10th anniversary.

The Valo Motion team will be available throughout the exhibition to demonstrate ValoBoard and Groundfall. Visitors can also try the new offerings during the event.
