Pico Project Swan Leak Shows Mixed Reality Headset
A leaked video has offered what seems to be the first detailed view of Pico’s upcoming Project Swan mixed-reality headset ahead of its official presentation. The footage was shared on X by a user identified as Luna, under the account @Lunayian. The material was reported to have been publicly accessible via Pico’s software development kit (SDK), and its authenticity was independently verified.
Visual assets in the SDK appear to correspond to both the headset and the individual shown in the leaked footage. The assets appear to match the silhouette visible in the video.
The footage suggests that Project Swan incorporates design elements from other mixed reality headsets, including Apple’s Vision Pro and Samsung’s Galaxy XR.
A centrally positioned control button is visible on the side of the headset. The button appears to be intended for core system functions. Many interactions shown in the video appear to rely on hand gestures and head tracking.
The footage also shows a separate battery pack connected to the headset. The battery unit includes five LED indicators, a USB Type-C charging port and a power button. The connection between the battery pack and the headset appears to be detachable.
Additional hardware visible in the video includes side-mounted speakers, detachable headband supports, and multiple spatial-tracking cameras. A pair of motion controllers is also shown.
The leak emerged shortly after Pico disclosed further technical details relating to Project Swan.
According to information previously released by Pico, the headset is expected to feature dual 4K Micro-OLED displays. The displays are expected to offer a pixel density approaching 4,000 pixels per inch. The device is also expected to provide up to 40 pixels per degree, increasing to 45 pixels per degree at the centre of the viewing area.
Project Swan is expected to use a dual-chip architecture. The configuration comprises a custom-built Pico Silicon processor and a flagship system-on-chip. The Pico Silicon processor is intended for sensing, spatial computing and image processing tasks.
Pico has reported that the flagship processor delivers more than twice the CPU and GPU performance of Qualcomm’s XR2 Gen 2 platform. The company has also reported an end-to-end mixed-reality latency of 12 milliseconds.
Alongside the hardware details, Pico recently introduced Pico OS 6. The operating system includes a new Spatial Engine layer designed to integrate standard Android applications directly into immersive environments.
The operating system also includes a feature known as PanoScreen. The feature enables users to position multiple application windows around them within a 360-degree workspace. Input methods include hand gestures, controllers, keyboards and mice.
The leaked footage appeared shortly after the release of these hardware and software details. The video provides a view of several components and features associated with Project Swan.
Project Swan is currently scheduled for a global launch in late 2026. Pico is expected to provide additional information and live demonstrations during its GDC 2026 developer session next week.
The leaked material emerged ahead of that session and appears to show the headset’s physical design, battery system, tracking hardware, controllers and interaction methods. The footage also corresponds to technical specifications and software features that Pico has recently disclosed for the device.
