Rochefort Financing Supports Red 6 Pilot Training
Rochefort Asset Management has completed financing for Red 6 Aerospace Inc., a developer of augmented reality systems for military pilot training. The funding was structured as senior secured debt and is meant to support the deployment and expansion of the company’s Airborne Tactical Augmented Reality System across active United States Department of War programmes.
Rochefort is a United States private credit firm focused on national security-related investments. The company operates under licences issued through the Department of War’s Office of Strategic Capital and the Small Business Administration. The financing agreement with Red 6 was announced after the transaction was completed.
Red 6 develops augmented reality technology intended for use in live-flight military training. Its Airborne Tactical Augmented Reality System, known as ATARS, allows pilots operating real aircraft to interact with digitally generated training scenarios during flight exercises. The system combines live, virtual and constructive training elements within a single operational environment.
The financing is intended to provide Red 6 with capital for programme development and wider deployment activities. The company plans to use the funding to support integration across existing aircraft platforms and continue production and operational expansion work linked to current military programmes.
Military air combat training is affected by limitations involving flight hours, operating costs and available airspace. Pilot responsibilities have also become more complicated due to increasing volumes of operational data and the use of unmanned systems in contested environments. Training systems capable of enabling large-scale live-flight exercises have become increasingly important within military aviation programmes.
ATARS has undergone evaluation by the Department of War and has been integrated into multiple aircraft platforms. Red 6 currently supports programmes operating across several United States military commands. The company also holds partnerships with defence contractors in the United States and other countries involved in military training and development.
The ATARS platform is intended to generate synthetic threat environments during live-flight exercises. The system enables pilots to train against modelled threats while operating real aircraft. The technology is also intended to increase the amount of training activity conducted during individual sorties and support training involving human-machine coordination with autonomous and unmanned systems.
Rochefort stated that the financing would support programme milestones and broader deployment across existing operational platforms. The investment is also intended to support production and integration activities linked to current military training programmes.
Rochefort Co-Founder, Co-Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer Jody LaNasa stated that military air capability depends on pilot training conducted in realistic operational circumstances. Rochefort stated that Red 6’s technology provides live-flight training capabilities using operational aircraft while supporting scalable deployment.
Rochefort Co-Founder and President Alex Lemond stated that military aviation training increasingly involves preparation for operations conducted alongside autonomous and unmanned systems. Rochefort stated that Red 6 is developing training infrastructure linked to those operational requirements.
Red 6 Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer Daniel Robinson stated that the financing would support faster deployment of ATARS across existing programmes and assist the company in meeting demand for live-flight military training systems. The company said that its technology allows pilots to engage synthetic threats while operating real aircraft during training exercises.
Rochefort stated that it continues to invest in companies that support the United States national security capabilities. The firm stated that its investment activities remain focused on technologies supporting defence-related operational requirements.
Red 6 continues to develop augmented reality systems for military aviation training applications. The company’s ATARS platform remains active within existing Department of War programmes as deployment and integration activities continue.
