Quest 3S Accessory from Logitech Increases Virtual Productivity

Logitech has recently unveiled its MX Ink device, a mixed reality (MR) pen attachment made especially for the Meta Quest headset line. This announcement was in the follow-up to the Meta Connect 2024 event. With the introduction of Meta Quest 3S, which goes live on October 15, this new tool is expected to enhance user engagement in virtual places. By allowing users to annotate and interact with 3D settings, the MX Ink connects the virtual and physical worlds.

The MX Mat costs $49.99, the basic MX Ink costs $129.99, and a combo package that includes the MX Ink and MX Inkwell costs $169.99. The MX Ink is compatible with Meta Quest 2, 3, and the 3S models.

The MX Ink tool is intended to unleash new levels of creativity and expression while broadening Logitech’s MX ecosystem for experienced producers, according to Vadim Kogan, Head of AR/VR at Logitech. This device acts as a link between conventional tools and immersive digital platforms by integrating with MR experiences.

Users may explore and annotate in MR environments using the stylus, especially in contexts such as virtual desktops. Users of Meta Quest have the ability to interact with virtual desks, whiteboards, and papers. In domains like health, architecture, and education, where appropriate apps are readily available from the start, Logitech emphasises its potential for experts in these sectors.

After months of rumours, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg just revealed the Meta Quest 3S, a less expensive variant of the Quest 3. The Quest 3S is already accepting pre-orders; the 128GB variant costs $299.99, while the 256GB model costs $399. The Quest 3S supports virtual desktop apps and is designed to increase office efficiency.

A top-notch 4K display, a Fresnel lens system, and full-color passthrough features are included in the Quest 3S. It has an 8GB RAM capacity, a Snapdragon XR Gen 2 CPU from Qualcomm, hard tracking, and Touch Plus controllers.

Meta has launched additional programmes to assist XR developers in addition to the Quest 3S. These initiatives include the Meta for Developers marketing hub and upgraded XR portfolio development centres. With the major announcements announced at Meta Connect, Meta is working to build a full ecosystem of tools and bespoke solutions. The Quest series’ XR content generation will be supported by these development facilities, which will also assist developers in utilising Meta’s AI/LLM and social media.
