Samsung Galaxy Glasses Leak Shows 245mAh Battery
A recent leak offers an early glimpse into Samsung’s upcoming wearable tech, revealing that the company’s first smart glasses are expected to feature a 245mAh battery. Identified under model number EB-O200, the device is reported to use a battery cell listed as part number EB-BO200CAY. The capacity suggests a compact power unit designed to fit within the form factor of wearable eyewear.
Information linked to the leak also points to the inclusion of a camera positioned at eye level. Earlier reports have suggested the camera could use a 12-megapixel sensor. The glasses are expected to include integrated microphones and speakers, along with a touch-sensitive control surface on the frame for user interaction.
The device will run Android XR, a platform designed for extended reality devices, and use Google’s Gemini system to enable artificial intelligence functions. These functions include voice interaction, environmental awareness, and other connected features.
Samsung has confirmed that it is working with eyewear brands Gentle Monster and Warby Parker on the design of the smart glasses. The collaborations are intended to produce multiple styles, including a sunglasses variant.
Battery information has also appeared for the forthcoming Galaxy Watch 9. The larger 44mm model is reported to include a battery with a rated capacity of 435mAh, identified by part number EB-BL355BAY. The capacity is higher than that of the battery used in the Galaxy Watch 8.
The rated capacity would typically correspond to a slightly higher advertised capacity in consumer specifications. The Galaxy Watch 9 is expected to be available in two sizes, 40mm and 44mm.
Both the Galaxy Glasses and the Galaxy Watch 9 are scheduled for release in the second half of the year. The launch is expected to coincide with Samsung’s next generation of foldable smartphones.
Reports indicate that the Galaxy Watch 9 may use Samsung’s Exynos W1000 processor, or an updated version of it.
Samsung has also disclosed that its next premium smartwatch platform will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Wear Elite processor. The chip is expected to appear first in the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 rather than in the standard Galaxy Watch 9.
