Cisco Webex Adds Support for Vision Pro and XR Spatial Meetings
With the addition of extended reality (XR) capabilities to its video conferencing platform, Cisco Webex has just launched spatial meetings, offering more immersive meeting experiences and improved compatibility with Apple Vision Pro.
With Webex, users can now turn any area with a Cisco Room Bar Pro into a completely immersive studio setting. Teams may use the Apple Vision Pro, an immersive headset designed for the office, to send spatial video to Webex with a straightforward software update. Users may perform product demos, remote training sessions, and educational activities with this configuration, which combines the Cisco Room Bar Pro with Apple Vision Pro. The visual experience is enhanced by additional depth and dimension.
Executive Vice President and Chief Product Officer Jeetu Patel of Cisco emphasised the company’s dedication to innovation by stating that by integrating AI into all facets of its product line, Cisco is assisting businesses in future-proofing their workspaces with solutions appropriate for the changing nature of work. He went on to say that Cisco wants to give its clients technology that is smart, flexible, and simple to use so that both clients and workers have better experiences.
At the recent WebexOne event, where Cisco usually presents its most recent XR advancements, this news was made. Cisco unveiled a number of new AI technologies aimed at enhancing the employee experience in addition to the XR improvements. The Cisco Ceiling Microphone Pro, new interfaces with workplace apps like Salesforce and ServiceNow, and AI-powered workspace management tools were among the noteworthy developments.
Building on their experience with XR communication solutions, Cisco continues to support Apple Vision Pro. Vection Technologies debuted 3D Frame, a Metaverse-integrated product within Webex’s business collaboration package, in 2022. This service made it possible to hold business meetings in a virtual reality setting.
The 3D Frame system was created as a low-code solution that enables users to easily construct personalised virtual reality collaborative environments. This application allows users to easily transform a 2D Webex session into a virtual reality (VR) conference room without ever leaving the app. Participants may exchange and stream a range of material, such as real-time 3D models, films, PDFs, and images.
Prior to this, Cisco unveiled the Webex Hologram Hybrid in 2021, a real-time meeting solution that integrated 3D holographic material into the Webex meeting platform using augmented reality head-mounted displays.
Cisco is establishing itself as a top supplier of immersive workplace solutions as 2025 draws near and XR gear and services continue to gain popularity across a range of professional industries, guaranteeing that it stays at the forefront of the changing XR scene.
