NTT QONOQ Launches Next-Gen AR Smart Glasses @MWC
Title: NTT QONOQ Introduces Next-Gen AR Smart Glasses for Diverse Applications

At the Mobile World Congress 2025, industry innovators are already preparing for the next phase of mobile technology, as extended reality (XR) and its hardware derivatives gain prominence. Among the companies investing in this space, NTT QONOQ Devices has emerged as a significant player with its forthcoming augmented reality (AR) smart glasses.

NTT QONOQ Devices is preparing to launch a series of XR products, including devices that will soon enter the competitive AR smart glasses market. At the event, the company is set to display its MiRZA wearable—a smart glasses solution designed for enterprise applications—as well as a prototype AR glasses model intended for consumer use.

The prototype for consumer applications has been developed to deliver essential visualisations, including notifications, navigation, translation, and artificial intelligence interactions that aim to enhance daily tasks and productivity. The MiRZA AR device, on the other hand, is designed to meet the needs of remote assistance and field operations. It does this by providing augmented reality visualisations and integrated workflows that help operators quickly complete tasks on-site.

The business gadget has Qualcomm’s Snapdragon AR2 Gen 1 chipset and is powered by the custom NTT XR Real Support framework, which was made to help with advanced remote guidance and support situations for fieldworkers. This framework is designed to address key workplace challenges by streamlining operations and simplifying skill acquisition.

Project leaders at NTT QONOQ have announced plans to debut both products in the summer season. In the meantime, visitors at MWC 2025 are encouraged to visit the company’s booth to interact with the devices firsthand, including a hands-on demonstration of a calligraphy application.

Looking ahead, NTT QONOQ Devices is actively pursuing partnerships with industry stakeholders for 2025 to distribute various tailored applications and services that will cater to both enterprise and consumer markets.

This development occurs amid escalating global competition in the AR smart glasses arena. While Meta appears to be a dominant force in the mainstream market with its range of wearable products, other firms are increasingly entering the space. Several companies are leveraging a more selective set of AR features while focusing on integrating deeper artificial intelligence capabilities.

Veteran players like Vuzix continue to update their products for workplace AR deployments on a regular basis, and RealWear is also concentrating on enterprise and frontline environments with AR solutions suited for demanding sectors such as mining and heavy industry.

The presence of numerous AR products at MWC 2025—from smart glasses to smart contact lenses—underscores the sustained momentum of the AR smart glasses trend that emerged in 2024. As new entrants continue to bring fresh perspectives to the XR landscape, the competition in AR wearables remains robust and dynamic.
