Avantis Education collaborates with ICESCO to pilot VR/AR tech
Avantis Education, a global education technology provider, is spearheading a pilot program for their ClassVR technology in collaboration with the Islamic World Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organisation (ICESCO). This program includes at least four ICESCO member nations, out of a total of 54 Muslim members. The goal is to evaluate the effect of immersive technology in education and provide best practices for its application.
The pilot was started at the ICESCO Ministerial Conference held in Oman on October 2nd and 3rd. The initiative will assess how immersive technology might improve educational results, providing practical findings and establishing a framework for future initiatives in education. The scheme is scheduled to begin immediately after the meeting and will use a tried-and-true approach to assist participating nations in adopting ClassVR. This solution, which incorporates hardware, software, and content, will be supplemented by instruction for students, professional growth for educators, and continuing effect analysis to offer an overall assessment for ICESCO.
Huw Williams, CEO of Avantis Education, said that successful countries match their educational systems with their national, economic, and social demands. He emphasised that good procedures comprising thought leadership, preparation, and implementation are essential for attaining this alignment. Avantis Education has created a prototype approach to assist educational institutions in planning, implementing, and delivering effective online instruction and educational results. This method enables Avantis to get direct input from both instructors and students across a variety of educational settings.
The 21-week curriculum will provide schools participating in the trial with the skills required to incorporate VR/AR into their teaching. The advantages of immersive technology for transdisciplinary learning will be highlighted. Schools will investigate how VR/AR could enhance access to schooling for all students, increase participation in academic topics, and promote social and emotional development.
Williams noted that since the debut of ClassVR, Avantis Education has collaborated with education ministries throughout the globe to identify how VR/AR may help to regional education reform efforts. This newest pilot will collect practical input to help determine the future of education for ICESCO member states.
