Meta Introduces AI Glasses With Wider Fit Options
Meta has introduced two new styles of AI-enabled glasses in its Ray-Ban smart eyewear range. They support a wider range of prescriptions and are designed for better comfort throughout extended wear.
The Blayzer and Scriber Optics frames support prescriptions from -6 to +6, including astigmatism, and offer more adjustable fit features.
These features include overextension hinges. They also have interchangeable nose pads and temple tips that opticians can adjust. This allows users to modify the fit of the glasses.
The updated models are priced higher than the existing Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses. In the United States, the glasses are available immediately, starting at $499. In the United Kingdom and Australia, they are scheduled for release on 14 April. Starting prices are £429 and AU$709, respectively.
Additional charges apply for prescription lenses. Lens cost depends on the strength and type of correction needed. Upgrades like transition lenses, which adjust to lighting conditions, are available for an added fee above the prescription lens price.
Pricing varies by configuration. Higher-end lens and feature combinations can push the total cost to over $1,000 in the United States. Lower-cost options are available for users with simpler prescription needs and fewer add-ons.
The glasses come with a Dark Brown charging case, replacing previous tan and limited-edition black versions.
Meta’s Oakley Vanguards now offer transition, Black, and Rose Gold lens options.
Oakley HSTN models now add Dark Golf and clear-to-brown transition lenses.
