FORM Smart Swim 2 PRO Adds Gorilla Glass Durability
FORM has introduced Smart Swim 2 PRO, an augmented-reality goggle that pairs the firm’s established digital training platform with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The new model expands upon Smart Swim 2, released in April 2024, and is aimed at club swimmers and triathletes who require robust hardware and detailed performance data during daily sessions and race preparation.
The design team has replaced conventional plastic ocular panels with internally and externally shielded Gorilla Glass 3. The chemically strengthened glass, already a fixture in premium mobile devices, provides elevated resistance to scratches and impact while retaining a lightweight profile suitable for continuous pool and open-water use. Beneath the glass, FORM’s custom multi-layer lens stack delivers optical clarity and a UPF 50+ rating, reducing ultraviolet exposure by approximately 98 per cent.
To address a perennial complaint with swim eyewear, FORM has overhauled the anti-fog system. Rather than depending on a delicate factory coating that often degrades after a few weeks, Smart Swim 2 PRO relies on a swimmer-applied solution comprising 25 per cent baby shampoo and 75 per cent water. Each retail pack contains a 10 mL spray bottle and a 10 mL concentrate that together support more than 175 applications. A single mist inside each lens, a quick spread, and a rinse immediately before a session clears condensation in roughly ten seconds and remains effective across a full workout.
The augmented-reality display mirrors the functionality of the April 2024 model. Metrics such as split times, stroke rate, distance, pace and heart rate are projected onto the right lens without obscuring forward vision. FORM’s HeadCoach virtual feedback engine delivers in-goggle prompts that refine technique in real time, while the SwimStraight navigation mode supplies directional cues during open-water sets. Post-swim synchronisation with the companion application allows athletes and coaches to review detailed analytics, track long-term trends and share files with training squads.
Hardware rollout coincides with a substantial software expansion for all generations of FORM goggles. HeadCoach Plans and Smart Set, scheduled for release later in July 2025, will generate adaptive training plans that update automatically as fitness markers change and will present live interval structures inside the display, eliminating the need to memorise set lists. From September, HeadCoach Insights will provide post-session evaluations and personalised recommendations that replicate one-to-one coaching feedback. Streaks, introduced in May, already monitor weekly pool attendance and issue motivational notifications to sustain consistency.
Users who subscribe to the FORM Premium package gain immediate access to the new tools as well as an existing catalogue of more than 1,500 guided workouts, 45 structured training plans, open-water navigation aids and advanced data visualisation. After a complimentary one-month trial, the service is priced at US$9.99, CAD$11.59, £8.25, €9.99 or AUD$14.99 per month.
Smart Swim 2 PRO is available now through formswim.com and selected North American retailers at US$329 or CAD$449. The product will reach other territories, including the United Kingdom, European Union and Australia, in early August at £279, €329 and AUD $529, respectively.
