ACE-AR Headset released by Rheinmetall Electronics UK at DVD
At the DVD 2024 event at UTAC Millbrook, Rheinmetall Electronics UK unveiled the Augmented Combat Environment Augmented Reality (ACE-AR) headgear.
A cutting-edge head-mounted display system created especially for vehicle crews working in terrestrial environments is the ACE-AR. This technique reduces nausea and eye strain while addressing a number of issues related to attaining 360-degree situational awareness in cramped and small car cabins. This creative design allows users to keep a clear view of critical functioning safety equipment while adhering to conventional standard operating procedures. By offering additional visual information streams, such as tactical data, synthetic information, and various indirect vision camera views, it also improves the user’s situational awareness.
With the finest eye relief in its class and a high-resolution dual-eye display, the headset is also built with comfort in mind. The 40% cognitive reaction speed advantage of the single focal plane near-eye display is accompanied with an ultra-low latency and lightweight construction. Moreover, it works with Rheinmetall’s Trailblazer driver vision system and is tuned for Safe Driver Vision.
At DVD 2024, Rheinmetall Electronics UK will present the ACE-AR. Managing Director of Rheinmetall Electronics UK Richard Streeter stated that the British Army now has an enhanced, constantly trained, fully protected, and ultimately dominant land force thanks to the launch of ACE-AR, at a time when defense forces need both force multipliers and a decrease in sensor-to-shooter latency. He underlined that by enabling more hatches-down operations and offering extensive, on-platform training simulations and results, the technology is anticipated to improve defense against unmanned system threats. Streeter also conveyed enthusiasm for the cooperative efforts of the technical and product teams in using the UK and NATO’s current investments in cutting-edge tactical sensors to create this revolutionary warfighting solution.
Furthermore, Rheinmetall Electronics UK’s Director of Business Development, Ross Haines, noted that while the company is actively validating requirements for commander use-cases and enhancements in the human-machine interface for specialised operators, ACE-AR is currently targeted at driver applications. He praised the headset’s clever, human-centered design, pointing out that it is the only head-mounted display in its class that is lightweight and simple to integrate, enabling pleasant usage for extended periods of time.
Rheinmetall Electronics UK will also showcase a wide variety of additional goods at DVD 2024, with an emphasis on providing a more advanced, deadly, and effective army. These products include the Trailblazer, Skyranger 35 C-SAT and SHORAD turret, and the Skyblazer 360 drone and air threat detection system.
