Vuzix Introduces M400 Xtreme Smart Glasses for Extreme Weather
Vuzix Corporation has unveiled the M400 Xtreme smart glasses kit, engineered to endure extreme weather conditions. This new kit boasts a range of features, including a lightweight and long-lasting Xtreme Weather power bank. Both the power bank and the M400 Xtreme smart glasses offer IP67-rated protection against dust and water and are operable in temperatures ranging from 20°C to 45°C.
The M400 smart glasses have already gained widespread adoption, according to Vuzix, a leading supplier of smart glasses. Paul Travers, President and CEO of Vuzix, noted that the kit addresses a specific demand. Since the launch of the M400, the company has been consistently improving the product. Over time, enhancements have included a brighter display, extended screen life and durability, significant reductions in non-user voice interference, an upgraded operating system, and speech recognition with support for 30 languages.
Additionally, Vuzix has ruggedised the adjustable hinge mechanism and improved other key design features. These enhancements have often been in direct response to operational requests and general product feedback from the thousands of customers actively using their smart glasses. An upgrade to Android 13 support, for instance, is part of their strategic roadmap for the year, driven by customer feedback.
Travers expressed confidence that the new Collaboration Package and the release of the M400 Xtreme will meet the growing need to stay connected with peer teams, regardless of location or environmental factors.
The M400 Xtreme kit is positioned as an out-of-the-box solution, offering improvements over the M400 All-Weather Kit in terms of battery capacity, suitability for harsh workplace environments, and a headband designed for long shifts. To boost the adoption of smart glasses in remote and challenging conditions, Vuzix has introduced a limited-time Collaboration Package offer. This includes free access to some of its augmented reality communications tools, such as Vuzix Video Conferencing for Zoom. These tools enable users to quickly and easily launch and join meetings and share video streams through the M400 smart glasses using clients’ video conferencing applications.
The M400 smart glasses product page on Vuzix’s website outlines ideal use cases for the new kit. The M400 Xtreme kit is optimal for situations where weather or temperature is a factor, combining a lightweight, durable, and long-lasting 3200 mAh Xtreme Weather battery that’s IP67 rated, along with a comfortable headband. Remote field service assignments and all-day cold storage warehouse duty are excellent applications for the M400 Xtreme kit.
All three M400 smart glasses kits are listed at the same price of $1,799.99.
