Augmented reality tool developer Imvizar Raises €1.5 Million
An Irish startup called Imvizar has secured €1.5 million, including a significant investment from Delta Partners VC, to fund the introduction of a revolutionary technology that will enable millions of artists worldwide to use augmented reality (AR) in their narrative. With this investment, Imvizar will be able to launch and grow its revolutionary no-code augmented reality production tool, Lureo, and enter the American market, which is both massive and thriving.
When it comes to online narratives, Lureo is a huge step forward. Making augmented reality content has always been a big deal, calling for experts in development and coding. Imvizar’s tool deviates from the standard by offering a platform that is easy to use and understand, enabling even those without technical knowledge to create top-notch augmented reality experiences. A broad range of producers, such as educators, filmmakers, marketers, and brand strategists, will be able to use this technology to bring their tales to life via augmented reality.
According to Michael Guerin, CEO and creator of Imvizar, who was born in Belfast, the firm aims to make spatial storytelling accessible and popular. Lureo makes it possible for anybody, anywhere to create immersive experiences using augmented reality content. Guerin predicted that Lureo would be the pioneer in the next age of spatial computing, drawing parallels between its influence on augmented reality and that of 4G and video streaming on the availability and inventiveness of content production. Not only does Lureo revolutionise story telling, but it also reimagines the interplay between narrative, location, and audience participation, as he pointed out. Imvizar is well-positioned to lead the charge of augmented reality innovation with the release of this product and its subsequent expansion into the US market.
In addition to Enterprise Ireland’s support, notable personalities like Michael Dywer (founder of Pigsback), Nigel Byrne (former Group CTO of Ooredoo), and Gareth Lambe (former Head of Meta (Ireland)) continue to back the initiative. Impressive clientele including North Carolina State University, Grant Thornton, and Salesforce have been drawn to Imvizar since its start in 2021.
Hosting more than 80 augmented reality projects in eight different countries, Imvizar was an early innovator in the field. These projects allowed users to turn real-world settings into interactive narrative experiences. Delta Partners VC, a top venture capital firm in Ireland, has now invested in the business. Dermot Berkery, a partner at Delta Partners, is thrilled to be on board with Imvizar’s mission to advance augmented reality. According to Berkery, one new invention that may change the game for augmented reality content creation and consumption is Lureo, which provides a very accessible platform. In addition, he stressed how great of an opportunity Lureo is for companies and artists alike.
Experiences in fields as diverse as sustainability, employee engagement, and tourism have all been created and released by Imvizar with great success. These initiatives have shown the enormous narrative and engagement possibilities of augmented reality while also revolutionising people’s interactions with their surroundings.
The augmented reality (AR) experience developed for Salesforce and installed in their Dublin Tower stands out; it improved the working conditions for everyone by providing visitors and workers with the opportunity to participate in immersive narratives. Notable projects include “Planet vs. Plastics,” created for Grant Thornton, which brought attention to the environmental consequences of single-use coffee cups with an interactive augmented reality display. The vibrant exhibit captivated a large number of workers and initiated meaningful discussions around environmental responsibility.
