Voxelo reveals an AI studio that converts product videos into 3D
Voxelo has introduced a new virtual studio aimed at retailers and brands, designed to generate 3D models, augmented reality assets and product imagery from a single product video. The Manchester-based technology company positions the studio as a way for eCommerce teams to capture, create and publish 3D, AR and AI-generated content in a significantly shorter timeframe than traditional methods.
According to the company, teams are able to complete the entire process in around two hours by relying on standard video capture tools rather than specialist or high-cost hardware. This approach is intended to lower the barrier to entry for high-quality digital content creation, allowing mainstream retailers to access advanced visual assets that were previously difficult or expensive to produce at scale.
Voxelo presents the studio as a response to long-standing challenges in 3D and AR production, particularly the time, cost and technical complexity often associated with these formats. The firm reports that its system can accelerate content creation by up to 30 times while reducing production costs by a factor of ten when compared with conventional workflows used across online retail.
The studio workflow begins with a short video recording of a product. From this single input, Voxelo’s proprietary technology generates a photorealistic 3D digital twin. The company explains that this digital twin is built for reuse, enabling a single model to support multiple formats and channels without the need for repeated production work.
From this foundation, retailers can offer consumers interactive 3D product views that allow items to be examined from any angle. The system also produces augmented reality assets that enable place-in-space experiences, supporting more immersive forms of online shopping. In addition, the studio can generate standard eCommerce imagery as well as AI-created lifestyle scenes, bringing multiple content types into one streamlined process.
Voxelo developed the studio around a concept it refers to as User Generated 3D, or UG3D, which it released in 2025. UG3D converts a short product video into a detailed digital twin using a combination of 3D processing, computer vision and artificial intelligence technologies. The company views this method as central to making advanced product content easier to produce and manage.
The studio has been positioned specifically for non-technical eCommerce and content teams. Voxelo states that the interface and workflow were designed to be consistent and repeatable, allowing teams without specialist 3D experience to produce reliable results. The company reports that improved product content plays a key role in building buyer confidence, which in turn supports higher conversion rates.
Voxelo says the product was developed with ongoing feedback from end users and that it takes a different approach from more common uses of AI in product content. Rather than focusing solely on 2D outputs, the studio centres on accurate, reusable 3D representations that can support a wide range of visual experiences.
The digital twin produced by the system acts as a central asset for all subsequent content creation. Voxelo explains that this reduces dependence on fragmented production pipelines and external specialist teams, simplifying the overall process while maintaining visual quality. The company also notes that reducing complexity was a core design goal, particularly for teams unfamiliar with traditional 3D tools.
Early customers for the studio include Cosatto and British Attire, although Voxelo has not disclosed details relating to contract values or usage levels. The company reports that its research and development efforts have been supported by Innovate UK, alongside initiatives such as Turing Innovation Catalyst, Exchange Accelerator and Venture Forward, with additional backing from the Greater Manchester Combined Authority.
Voxelo describes itself as a 3D and AI content platform focused on eCommerce, with continued investment in research related to product visualisation technologies. The company has announced the release of version 2.0 of its studio, which includes an introductory offer of 10,000 free credits for new users. This allowance is equivalent to creating ten 3D digital twins with augmented reality features included. Paid subscription plans are set to begin at £50 per month, and registrations are currently open for the AI content studio beta.
The company expects adoption to increase as eCommerce teams look for faster and more efficient ways to create 3D models, AR assets and high-quality imagery from a single source. By consolidating processes that have traditionally been complex and resource-intensive, Voxelo aims to provide retailers with a practical alternative for enhancing digital product catalogues.
