Accenture’s Investment in Strivr Can Carry Forward Immersive Learning in the Metaverse

Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has recently made a notable investment in Strivr, a major supplier of immersive virtual reality training and learning solutions for organisations, via its investment wing Accenture Ventures.

Strivr, headquartered in Santa Clara, California, has been using a validated, patented immersive learning environment to teach over one million employees at many of the world’s leading corporations. Strivr’s Vr-based infrastructure enables firms to enhance the speed and productivity of their employee training and upskilling initiatives whilst still providing data-driven analytics that helps them better understand and improve their overall talent development operations.

According to Tom Lounibos, Managing Director, Accenture Ventures, there is now huge potential for immersive learning to progress, owing to the predicted global shortage of technical skills, together with growing employee retention problems along with the inefficacy of conventional learning approaches. He elaborated further, saying that he expects the demand for Strivr’s VR training solutions to grow globally, as firms everywhere are looking for new ways to deliver upskilling training, raise engagement and enhance employee retention. Lounibos believes that Immersive learning is a terrific way for organisations to actualise the potential of the metaverse continuum.

According to data from The World Economic Forum, upwards of one billion people will require to be reskilled by the year 2030, due to major competencies required for employees across industries changing. In many scenarios, fresh skills are also quite necessary. According to a recent Accenture research, 90% of executives feel that currently, existing training techniques have to become more efficient and result-driven. Also, most employees expressed that they would be interested in being retained at a firm that contributed to their professional growth. Employees can participate in intuitive learning via immersive learning employing extended reality (XR) technology, which has been found to improve the retention of learned skills.

According to Derek Belch, Strivr CEO and Founder, VR training, similar to various other disruptive workplace advancements, is redefining the standards for calculating how effective corporate training is, along with the efficacy of experiential learning. Belch remarked that the company is exhibiting the core advantages of VR technology across aspects such as employee hiring, training, onboarding, and skill development with Strivr’s enterprise-level infrastructure, spread across countless virtual reality-based sessions.

Strivr is looking forward to integrating its feature-rich platform with all that is being offered by Accenture’s learning platform will open up new ways to demonstrate the value of VR-based immersive learning in enhancing outcomes.
