Walmart Expands Eyewear Virtual Try-On Technology
Copilot, Microsoft’s AI companion, is reportedly being used by a number of enterprises.
During Microsoft’s quarterly results call on January 30, chairman and CEO Satya Nadella credited these and other AI technologies for the record-breaking quarter the firm had from December 31 to January 2.
Nadella claims that the business has transitioned from discussing AI to using it extensively. AI is helping the business grow by bringing new benefits and efficiency gains, as well as new clientele, into every stage of the technological stack.
According to Nadella, nearly one-third of the 53,000 users of Azure AI, Microsoft’s resource that gives users access to artificial intelligence models, are new users who have embraced this solution in the last 12 months.
The number of paid members for GitHub Copilot, the company’s AI development tool, has increased by 30% from the previous quarter to 1.3 million. Additionally, over 50,000 organisations utilise GitHub Copilot Business.
Power Platform, the low-code and no-code development platform from Microsoft, has seen an 80% increase in the number of organisations using its AI capabilities compared to the previous quarter, reaching over 230,000.
Copilot Studio, which allows customers to develop bespoke AI companions, has been used by over 10,000 enterprises.
Over 100 hospital systems utilise DAX Copilot, which was developed specifically for the healthcare sector.
During the conversation, Nadella revealed these figures and said that an increasing amount of proof indicates how AI will change the nature of work.
According to Nadella, early users of Copilot for Microsoft 365 demonstrated a 29% speed advantage while searching, writing, summarising, and doing other related activities. Microsoft has discovered that generative AI may increase productivity by up to 70% in other work activities, which he did not mention.
More than 75 million Windows PCs are already running Copilot in Windows, according to the company’s PC division.
By 2024, artificial intelligence will be a first-rate feature on every PC, said Nadella.
Additionally, AI is changing Microsoft’s browser and search services. The company’s AI-driven tools, for instance, have generated 5 billion photographs and had 5 billion conversations. Those two numbers are twice as high as they were the prior quarter.
According to Nadella, Edge and Bing both gained market penetration during the current quarter.
