Nimo Planet and Rokid Working on Better Spatial Efficiency

Rokid and Nimo Planet collaborate to increase spatial productivity

The Nimo 1 Core tiny computer and its Nimo Operating System (Nimo OS) were recently released by Nimo Planet Inc., a business that specialises in spatial computing for productivity. Moreover, the brand has partnered with Rokid, a manufacturer of augmented reality technology, to include the Rokid Max Glasses within its handheld spatial computing solution.

According to Nimo Planet, the integration of the Nimo 1 Core, Nimo OS, and Rokid Max Glasses will provide today’s hybrid workforce with a customised, multi-screen, spacious office experience.

The partnership with Rokid intends to provide customers with more alternatives in spatial computing by enabling them to combine Rokid Max Glasses with the Nimo Core. According to Nimo Planet, in the future, customers will be able to choose whatever AR glasses they want to use with Nimo OS.

The Rokid Max Glasses and Nimo Core package is offered for USD $1,499 for corporate clients. Individual buyers may pre-order the Nimo Core restricted Edition with Rokid Max Glasses for USD $799 (restricted to the first 1,000 orders), with delivery anticipated in 6–8 months.

via a pocket-sized computing device and a virtual, private display, Nimo Planet provides productivity apps via proprietary hardware and software. By offering a flexible, desk-free multi-monitor configuration, the company’s technology seeks to alleviate some of the difficulties encountered by professionals who operate in different places.

The CEO and founder of Nimo Planet, Rohildev Nattukallingal, said that modern workers might profit from multi-monitor setups without requiring a desk by using Nimo Planet’s invention. Modern mobile computer solutions significantly limit one’s ability to be structured, productive, and comfortable while travelling. Nimo is changing this paradigm by providing a mobile, business-class workspace via the creative and effective use of spatial computing.

The Nimo 1 Core gadget, which is about the size of an AirPods Pro case, comes with Nimo 1 OS, which features a unique rendering approach intended to save resources by lowering CPU/GPU and memory consumption. According to the business, Nimo OS can allow for the simultaneous positioning of several Android apps, Unity apps, and web apps at different depths.

This makes it possible to generate up to six high-fidelity 3D displays in the real environment. Nimo OS also supports Stereotype Images and Videos. The gadget has an 8-core Qualcomm XR2 CPU, 128GB of storage, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and 8GB of RAM.

Furthermore, Nimo OS can handle Windows and Mac programmes via WiFi or USB-C. Users may expand up to five displays into Nimo Workspaces by connecting Nimo 1 Core to Mac or Windows laptops. The company has said that it has received a U.S. utility licence for its Multi-Window Architecture and Nimo OS Spatial Workspace.

The AR glasses, called Rokid Max Glasses, include Micro-OLED lenses with 1080p resolution per eye, creating a simulated display that can be as big as 215″ across and 600 nits luminous. With a weight of under 75g and an eye comfort certification from TÜV Rheinland, these glasses are designed to be worn for lengthy periods of time without tiring the eyes.

Nimo Core has a trackpad and a portable pointing device called the “Air Mouse” for device interaction, which makes it easier to use standard productivity apps on Nimo OS. According to the business, the system allows for customisable screen modifications and straightforward navigation of common office apps. It also supports input devices such as a Bluetooth mouse, trackpad and keyboard.

With the goal of further increasing user productivity, Nimo Planet is working on integrating generative AI into Nimo OS. Nimo OS, which is based on the Linux and Android Open Source Project (AOSP), attempts to take use of the robustness and adaptability of the Android ecosystem in order to provide a user-friendly and potent workplace environment.
